Welcome to The Forgotten People Orphanage Visitor Application

READ BEFORE YOU COMPLETE FORM

Before beginning this form, please note that it may take more than 15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to take your time and answer each question honestly and thoughtfully.

As part of our application process, there is a one-time, non-refundable $100 application and processing fee per applicant. This fee helps cover administrative expenses, application review, interview coordination, background evaluation, and the Zoom interview process that takes place with each applicant.

Upon completion of this application, you will be redirected to a secure payment page where you may submit your $100 application and processing fee. Applications will not be reviewed until this fee has been received.

Please note that a Discover Trip is required for all first-time visitors who have never visited The Forgotten People Orphanage. The purpose of the Discover Trip is twofold:

  1. To allow our team to determine whether you are a good fit for future involvement with The Forgotten People and our orphanage family.

  2. To allow you to determine whether The Forgotten People and the work taking place in Guatemala is something you would like to continue being a part of in the future.

If approved for a Discover Trip, participants will be asked to make a $500 Discover Trip Program Contribution. This contribution will be collected approximately one week prior to the scheduled trip date and is separate from all personal travel expenses, including but not limited to airfare, food, transportation, lodging, passport fees, and any other travel-related costs.

The Discover Trip Program Contribution directly supports the ongoing care of the children at The Forgotten People Orphanage, including food, clothing, medical care, education, housing, and the daily operational needs of the ministry.

If you are not comfortable with the $100 non-refundable application fee and the $500 Discover Trip Program Contribution, we respectfully ask that you do not submit an application.

As part of your application, we ask that you record a 3-minute (or longer) video sharing a little about who you are, your faith journey, and why you would like to visit The Forgotten People Orphanage in Guatemala.

The purpose of this video is to help us get to know you on a deeper and more personal level. Please upload your video to YouTube (public or unlisted) and include the YouTube link in the designated section of this form.

Please also note that there will be a first and second interview process following the submission of your application.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval for participation in a Discover Trip. The Forgotten People reserves the right to approve or decline any applicant at its sole discretion based on ministry needs, safety considerations, trip capacity, organizational policies, and overall fit for the mission.

To protect the children, staff, volunteers, and families we serve, The Forgotten People reserves the right to modify, suspend, shorten, cancel, or terminate an individual's participation in a Discover Trip at any time, before or during the trip, if deemed necessary by ministry leadership.

Additionally, The Forgotten People operates under the laws and regulations of Guatemala and is governed by the requirements and oversight of the Guatemalan CNA. As a result, we are required to follow strict policies and procedures regarding child protection, visitor interactions, photography, conduct, and access to children. While changes to a trip are unlikely, participants acknowledge that schedules, activities, accommodations, access, and trip details may be modified if necessary to comply with CNA requirements, local laws, safety concerns, ministry needs, or circumstances beyond our control.

We deeply appreciate your time, your heart, and your interest in being part of what God is doing through The Forgotten People. Your story matters, and we look forward to learning more about you.

We are incredibly excited about the possibility of having you join us in Guatemala and experience firsthand what God is doing through The Forgotten People.

Our prayer is that your Discover Trip will be much more than a visit. We hope it will give you a deeper understanding of the mission, the children, and the vision that God has placed before us. We believe that one of the most powerful ways to become an advocate for vulnerable children is to see the work with your own eyes and experience it for yourself.

Our hope is that you will leave Guatemala inspired to help us raise awareness, share the mission with others, and become part of the effort to rescue and care for even more children. Every child who finds safety, healing, and hope through The Forgotten People is there because faithful people chose to get involved.

We cannot do this alone. The future of this ministry depends on people who are willing to see the vision, share the vision, and help us connect with others who have a heart to make a difference. Together, we can continue bringing hope, healing, and a brighter future to vulnerable children in Guatemala.

Most importantly, we pray that your time in Guatemala helps you become an advocate for the children we serve. The more people who see the vision, understand the need, and share the mission with others, the more children we can rescue and care for. We believe God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things, and many of our greatest supporters first experienced the ministry through a trip just like this one.

Thank you for considering this opportunity. We look forward to getting to know you and, prayerfully, welcoming you to Guatemala soon. We cannot wait to share our orphanage family, our community, and the vision God has entrusted to us.
